  4. I will have to give credit to Kelly Sheehan (I'm sorry Kelly I don't know your new married name) for teaching the class for the crown.

Kelly is a "shopper" for the New York City Ballet. How cool is that, you get to go shopping for materials, and trims and get paid for it too. She taught us how to make our crown form, then we had to run the wire through either gold or silver cordinf, then make the form....then we had to use tiny wire to string each crystal on one at a time. Then we wired them on the form.

I thought I was done, but then she made me rewire the crystals again!

Then we did the larger center stones.

The colors are those of the New York City Ballet. Then we used either silver or gold giltter hot glue sticks to go over the wire on the back of the crown.

Just when I thought," ok done"; she said "Not yet.....and off we went to spay horse hair (the color of our dancers hair" and then had to sew it on for the little darlings................

The class was great fun, but I like buying the forms in New York from people from China. I then use cording to cover the wire, and sew on colored net to attach my stones..............but you can't find the forms in NY anymore........bummer..........but they are pretty things, expensive to make because the price of the stones continue to increase.

My friend Cat is a quick crown maker!

  5. Do you have a pattern I am able to buy to be able to make a proffessional tutu.... proper tutu...

    kind regards
    Jane

  6. I would really be interested in a video on the construction of the tutu. I've been asked by my daughter in-law to make them for my granddaughter who is 1.My daughter in-law likes how the light dances off of them and she looks so cute in them, see my daughter in-law is a photographer, she loves taking pictures of my grandson and granddaughter. I would like to make my styles of tutus for as long as they would like, and how knows maybe she will be a ballerina or other kind of dancer. For know I will be making the halloween tutu, I know they will love it. Please let me know were I can find your information.
    Thank You,
    Sally

  7. This is fascinating. I'd be very interested in learning how to make a proper tutu — and the additional costume pieces, such as the crown described by Paula and wings if possible. Do you have a DVD please?
    kind regards
    Suzy (in Australia)

  8. Please let me know if a dvd or a seminar/class becomes available.
